Well, I almost put off reading this book as I felt that it might push at my comfort levels with the humiliation/shame kink, but then I decided to look at it from a different perspective. A lot of us have some pretty kinky proclivities/fantasies that we wouldn’t want someone else to judge us for, so how is this any different? While this book can be read as a stand-alone, you will enjoy it better if you read the other Pendleton Bay books as there are a number of overlapping characters sprinkled throughout. This book was both well written and well edited. If you are on the fence about reading this book, I recommend giving it a try as I found it to be a very good albeit long read. The following is my favorite quote from the book:“We’ll drink and light things on fire.”“So, high school all over again?” Holy hotness ya’ll! Forrest and Jarod’s story brings all the kink and steam with a dash of sweet that you could hope for! I loved their journey of their first meeting, as they navigated their roles in their arrangement, and as they really go to know each other. Jarod knew just how to push Forrest! Each man complimented each other so well, even though from an outsider’s perspective they didn’t seem to mesh. It was wonderful seeing these two men finding each other, and even more so finding what they needed from and with each other. If you’re a fan of humiliation, shame and pain this isn’t one to pass up! I’ve really been enjoying getting to know the characters of Pendleton Bay, and seeing some we’ve met along the way was great! I’m eager to see how this Erie’s continues to develop!
